A lot of us grew up with the opportunity to engage in action sports. We mountain biked, skateboarded, rode BMX, and inline skated. But few, if any, received support that led them to achieve professional status or the ability to make a living working within in those fields. Enter The Right Direction.
Created by BMX biker and trials riders Don DiBartolomeo & Ian Poor–both accomplished professionals– have gone on to do great things for their communities as well as their sport. This program gives kids the opportunity to excel in something they already have an interest in.
“Action sports encourage healthy risk-taking, perseverance, and resiliency. Hard work is necessary for success in action sports.” Don has been working with kids to elevate their skills since 1986, and believes action sports, “are the ideal framework for self expression, creativity, communication, and the development of interpersonal skills.” Using local skate parks and schools as a pool to get kids involved, we found out that many kids have talent. They just need motivation to realize self worth and develop skills…
“Our Mission is to empower youth through action sports.”
